Sunday, Preston works on his non-fiction piece, deciding to write about his break up with Emma. Preston has lunch with Teri Monday, and is evasive about what he wrote about for class. Emma talks to Preston , trying to figure out who Claire's secret boyfriend is Tuesday, and figures out that Preston knows who it is. The class workshops Preston 's piece Wednesday. Dave comes to Preston 's room Thursday, and invites him to come with the band on a road trip that weekend. Emma and Preston get into a playful fight Friday and Teri walks in on them in a compromising position; after Teri tells Preston off, he decides to take Dave up on his invitation to join in on the road trip. Saturday, Dave and Preston sit outside at a rest stop, talking about their respective relationships, as Preston smokes for the first time with Dave.
