Sunday, Barry stops in during Preston 's shift at the Main Desk to talk to him about Dave's strange, drug-induced behavior the night before, which scared each of them. On Monday, Preston speaks to Jones one last time for the year. Preston has his last final on Tuesday, and returns to his room to talk Dave as he packs up his things, set to leave that afternoon. Wednesday, Preston 's things are all packed up and he spends the evening with Veronica, having dinner and talking. Preston learns of Veronica's history with anorexia and her past relationship with Jimbo from the Sidewinders. Preston rides home with his father on Thursday. Preston and Matt spend a lazy day together, watching TV on Friday, then spend Saturday on Preston 's porch, talking about the summer ahead.
