Sam leads Preston on a search of SA President Alan Chilling's dorm room on Sunday night, where they come upon some black and white photographs. Sam explains that the photos show Chilling with Amber Mitchell, a girl who claimed she was raped the year before. Preston talks about the ramifications of the photos with Emma on Monday, and she questions the validity and ethics of raising the story. On Tuesday, Sam and Preston track down Amber to talk to her. After a lot of questions, and citing photographs of Amber and Chilling, she tells them that Chilling came to her before running for president, before she could recognize him and take action, and bribed her with $5,000 to not say a word. Wednesday, Preston and Sam work on writing up the story. Window Editor in Chief Larry Schmidt does not run the story about Chilling on Thursday. In a tense meeting, Preston and Sam come to the realization that Larry has been trying to block the story because he's involved in it. He took the photographs Preston and Sam found, and accepted a $5,000 bribe of his own to stay quiet. Preston sleeps in Friday morning. Saturday night, Preston attends an Off Beats concert, where he is impressed by the group, and specifically by Veronica.
