Preston talks to his mom as he gets ready for work Sunday. Preston interviews the President of the college Monday, about the Groundhog's Day festival. Tuesday, Teri and Preston talk about layout for the post-Groundhog's Day issue of the paper. Preston interviews Tucker on Wednesday, who's enthusiastic about the weekend's events. As Preston lies in bed Thursday night, he listens to Chang breaking up with Claire in the common room. Friday, at the Groundhog's Day festival, The Axis plays, and there's a full day of activity leading up to an a cappella show to wrap up the night, with The Off Beats performing last. Preston 's in the bathroom when he hears a gunshot. Just past midnight Saturday morning, Preston catches Sam on the phone, who informs him a guy with a gun and a bomb strapped to his chest is holding students hostage in the lobby while Preston is in the bathroom. Sam encourages Preston to stay to get the story, and notes that half of the hostages are women from The Off Beats.
