Preston says goodbye to Teri after they visit his grandmother Sunday. Monday, Preston , his father, and Natalie talk a little about Teri, before his dad asks him to start hanging out with Valerie some, to get a better idea of who she is, and what more she might know about her mother's murder. Preston talks to Matt about Valerie Tuesday, explaining that he's attracted to her, and worried he might do something he'll regret if they spend too much time together. On Wednesday, Darryl pleads not guilty in court. Thursday, Preston calls Valerie to ask her out for ice cream, and she ends the conversation abruptly when Adam joins her. Preston talks to his father about being uncomfortable with his assignment to get close to Valerie on Friday, and his father reassures him that it's an important job, and that Preston 's feelings for Valerie will help him do it well. Saturday, Preston talks to his mother about Ray's pending wedding.
