Sunday, Preston plays cards with his grandmother and talks about his brother's wedding. Charlie, the gardener, testifies Monday, reiterating that he thought Cheryl Goodman was nice, but that Darryl was mean. Preston 's father questions him about his infatuation with the women in the family, and asks if he thought Darryl was mean because he told Charlie he was making them uncomfortable. Matt calls Preston on Tuesday, and talks about Julie being mad at him. Wednesday, one of Darryl's neighbors testifies, saying he didn't see anyone go to the house between Cheryl and Darryl, but that he can't imagine Darryl would have murdered her. Preston talks to Teri on the phone Thursday, and she invites him to come back to Taylor a week early and stay at her apartment before the school year starts. Friday, Preston packs, preparing to head out to Shepherdsport to meet up with Teri. Preston and Teri go hiking on Saturday.
